A Left handed happy servant warrior
Day 4 in Wide Angle Production SCCC - Joyful and thankful! :)
All for His Glory!
It has been a rather smooth yet challenging time of transition for me In the past 4 days of working at a DESK, and having a sudden change in working hours, location, set of colleagues and projects coming up, has been... good.
As I sat at the little room in our new rented office in Paya Lebar (photos soon) all by myself during lunch time to spend time quiet time reflecting about God, emotions were just welling in my heart. There were sadness from the ministries I had to move out from - SMU and SIM, thanksgiving for the new ministry God has opened the door for me widely, thanksgiving that it has been rather smooth and the new colleagues are very nice in helping me to adapt into the new environment quickly. There were tiredness too, from all the running around among commitments at church, home, work and wedding preparations, YET excitement in the upcoming new portfolio and projects I can be learning and working on.
As I prayed for an hour, God reminded me of His goodness... I am currently reading through the book of Jeremiah and am amazed at how God's heart was for His people. That even though they have sinned against Him, there was still lots of love and grace from God to them. Though the context in Jer 46 was about how Judgment was brought upon the land of Judah for disobeying God, there was a hidden verse that gave me lots of peace and relation to the "distant land" I am in now.
"Do not fear, O Jacob my servant;
do not be dismayed, O Israel.
I will surely save you out of a distant place... (46:27a)
Do not fear, O Jacob my servant,
for I am with you," declares the LORD." (46:28a)
God reminded me of the "distant land" yet familiar place I am in, the production ministry which I am now in. A ministry that He has opened but I have no clues to the skills for media, filming, editing, making evangelistic films, planning a crew, being a director, or a producer or even coming up with what they call a "story board" for the film...
Its like I am a handicapped sword fighter who has lost her trusty right hand, and now have to use the left hand to fight. I am learning the ART of Humility and servanthood all over again. It is a GREAT journey I must say, EXCITING for me to learn and still be able to disciple my SIM SMU students in cell groups aka DG groups... Thank you for praying along side with me! It is ultimately All for His Glory, so that ALL May know that He is GOD! :) excited!!
My upcoming projects and "gifts" from God:)
1. A 6-years thanksgiving missions video for SCCC thanksgiving day on 26May08
2. An evangelistic film "Take a Look at Me" on 15th-16th May08 - I am the assistant producer for this project, where the film will depict how masks are our daily attire for our everyday lives... and to reflect our inner real self below these masks before our friends and love ones :)
3. 17 14-year olds girls cell group in church - we are working on an evangelistic event running many Sundays where games and sports are played with our non-Christian friends!! (on-going)
4. Upcoming parable project, WAP mission trip (local) where we give students and opportunity to learn and be involved in making short films to reach more reach better! June 08
5. Wedding preparations! (on-going)
6. SIM and SMU Discipleship time! weekly, twice a week :)
thanks for praying for me! :)
Excited and full of thanksgiving,
yvonne
